Peter b. 1603 Descendents

We’ll start out the Peter1 page the same way we start Richard1’s with the records of the Visitation at Boveney in 1634. On the lower left of the page you see the notation “Peter now in America”. We know Peter1 emigrated to Jamestowne in America in October 1621/2 aboard the ship “Charles“. He was 18 years old at the time. Peter was among 28 people that were transported to America at the expense of William Ewen.

Here we have a couple of drawings of the fort at Jamestowne as it appeared at the time of Peter’s arrival. We’re not sure how long Peter spent at Jamestowne. It may have been just days, or weeks. We do know that three years later we find him engaged with two of his shipmates on the South side plantation of Captain Samuel Matthews.
