Minutes of MFA Meeting, September 29, 2014
• The meeting was called to order at 7:38 p.m., EST. In attendance were Jo Anne St. Clair,
President; Suzanne Hamilton, Secretary; Curt Montague, Treasurer; & Robert V. Montague,
• One correction was made to the July 28, 2014 meeting minutes. The minutes were approved
as corrected.
• Treasurer’s report: At the beginning of the month, there was $1,123.14 in our account. We
had one debit of $4.82 for sales taxes, so the current balance is $1,118. 32. We had no
deposits this month. The balance in the mailing account is $800.00 which included a
donation from Richard Montague in Germany. The Treasurer’s report was approved as
• President’s Report: The primary activity has been speaking to Suzanne Hamilton In Hampton,
VA and talking to the Hampton History Museum about Board meeting and brunch/lunch.
• A discussion took place regarding 2015 reunion venues. Robert V. decided that a tour of
Jamestown(e) was mandatory & that he would handle the arrangements. He also stated that
he would take care of the Williamsburg visit.
• The capacity of the Hampton History Museum, site of the Board meeting, was discussed.
• Curt stated that he had spoken with Robert L. Montague & that Robert L. had invited reunion
participants to attend church with him on the Sunday of the reunion. Robert L. had told
Curt that there would many people in the congregation to volunteer family background &
• The dynamics & expense of a mass mailing was discussed at length. The proposed reunion
schedule was also discussed at length. In addition, there was a discussion about a “Reunion
Registration Fee.”
• The need to keep reunion fees & membership fees separate was also discussed.
• With a decision to review the costs of the reunion “offline,” the meeting was adjourned at
8:54 p.m. EST.
• The next meeting will be Monday, October 27, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.
