Clair, President; Suzanne Hamilton, Secretary, Curt Montague, Treasurer & Robert V.
Montague, Historian.
• The minutes from the April 28, 2014 meeting were reviewed and approved.
• Treasurer’s report: There have been no changes to the treasury. We have $1,163.14
in the bank including the $800.00 in the mailing fund. We will have a debit later in
June for our corporation fees of $40.00.
• The Treasurer’s report was approved as submitted.
• President’s report: Jo Anne congratulated Historian Robert V. Montague for his 2014
National Genealogical Society’s “Award for Excellence” for History and Genealogy
of Peter Montague of Jamestown, Virginia (1603–2003).
• A motion was made to hold the 2015 Montague Family Association reunion in colonial
Virginia; date to be determined. Curt Montague attempted to review the most
recent survey results about venues but was not able to access the responses.
• Suzanne Hamilton was tasked with seeking a joint event with the Hampton History
Museum & to check with the Jamestown(e)/Yorktown Foundation to determine a
venue.
• Robert V. Montague suggested that it would helpful if Suzanne also identified tours
and historical trails available for our group to join and then put those on our reunion
calendar of events. Costs would be borne by participants.
• A brief discussion took place regarding mailing labels for the planned membership
mailing. Due to funding limitations, it was decided that the mailing would go out to
500 receipients at a time with more mailings scheduled as funding permits.
• Plans were made for submissions to the next newsletter; Jo Anne & Curt agreed to
get their articles ready soon.
• The date for the next meeting was set for July 28, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., EST.

Respectfully submitted,
Suzanne Hamilton
