Board of Directors

Jo Anne St. Clair, President

Jo Anne St. Clair is a 12th generation direct descendant of Peter Montague of Jamestown, Virginia. My Mother was Alma Dorothy Montague St. Clair, originally from Portsmouth, Virginia. My Father, Elvin Monroe St. Clair was also a native of Portsmouth and owned Bootsie’s Food Market for 35 years. I grew up in Portsmouth and the former Nansemond County, now the City of Suffolk.
I am a 1971 graduate of Longwood College (now University) with a BA Degree in Political Science and I later received a Master in Social Work from The University of South Carolina.
I have been employed in the human services/public services arena for over 40 years and am currently employed by the City of Columbus, Ohio as a Manager of a Neighborhood Pride Center and a Neighborhood Liaison. I am the proud parent of Jon Roberts of Wheeling, West Virginia and Nana Jo to Zoe Minh Roberts.
I am involved with my Church, First Unitarian Universalist and my own neighborhood civic association as Treasurer. My great-grandfather Montague was very involved in state and city elected office, so I think my interest in politics is a result of DNA. I am an avid antiquaire and enjoy gardening and the  outdoors, as well as genealogy. I hope to play some small part in the development and success of the Montague Family Association. I hope you will
join us in this endeavor.

Vice-President

Secretary

Robert V. Montague, Historian

I am a retired U.S. Air Force (AF) Special Operations officer living in
Navarre, FL, with wife Linda, since 1996. I continue to work full time within
AF Special Operations as a civilian, and I hold a BS degree in Physics, and
MS degree in Business Management. For the past 12 years, I have been a member of the National Genealogical Society (NGS), The New England Historic  Genealogical Society, the Association of Professional Genealogist, and the Jamestowne Society. Genealogical credentials include credit for a technical
writing course at Samford University in 2002, and completion of the NGS Basic Course, “American Genealogy”. For these past 12 years, my passion as been researching and writing the seminal two-volume, “History and Genealogy of Peter Montague of Jamestowne, Virginia (1603-2003)”, Quadricentennial Edition, planned for release in Dec 2012. A Minibook Edition, The First Three Generations, was published in 2003 and again in 2006. For more about me and genealogy, visit houseofmontague.com or contact me at houseofmontague@bellsouth.net. I am in the Montague Family Association for the long haul, and hope my tenure as MFA Historian will add dignity and pride to our ancient and venerable surname–Montague.
